Murdoch political research to have impact through international think tank
ҹվ’s Dr Jeffrey Wilson has been appointed as the Head of Research at the Perth USAsia Centre.
is a political scientist, who specialises in regional economic integration in the Indo-Pacific.His research examines how transformation in the regional economic architecture – including trade agreements, multilateral organisations and policy dialogues – is reshaping the contemporary economic and business environments of Asia.
“The Perth USAsia Centre is a leading think tank focusing on geo-political issues, policy development and building a strategic affairs community across government, business and academia,” Dr Wilson said.
“Being able to work within such an internationally focused centre will enable my research at ҹվ to easily enter the narrative of the quickly evolving policy environment of the Indo-Pacific.”
The Perth USAsia Centre, located at The University of Western Australia, is a non-partisan, not-for-profit institution strengthening relationships and strategic thinking between Australia, the Indo-Pacific and the USA.
The Centre’s programs focus on the emerging Indo-Pacific regional architecture, and Australia-US-Indo-Pacific relationships.
Under this industry partnership, Dr Wilson will provide leadership and strategic direction in developing and managing the Perth USAsia Centre’s research across its publications, policy and dialogue activities.

“Dr Wilson’s new role strengthens existing links between ҹվ and the Perth USAsia Centre,” Professor Rodan said.
“This kind of research partnership is invaluable in building links between ҹվ and industry, and fostering the translation of academic research for policy and business audiences.”
